SUBJECT: Pratt Industries COVID-19 Communication

Our parent company, Pratt Industries, is closely monitoring the ever-changing dynamics surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19). We want you to know that our company and its employees and supply chain are considered an “Essential Critical Infrastructure Worker” under the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) guidance on Essential Critical Infrastructure dated March 23, 2020.

Regarding vulnerability of Pratt’s supply chain, Pratt is vertically integrated, and as a result, virtually all of our primary raw materials are sourced domestically. Therefore, we believe our exposure as a company to imports coming directly from regions designated as high risk by the CDC is negligible. And since we have a network of multiple Containerboard Mills, Corrugator Plants, Converting Plants, and Distribution Centers in most of our served regions, our ability to provide contingency supply plans is generally strong. As you know, the current situation with this virus is very fluid, however at this point we have not had any interruptions of supply to any of our customers related to this virus outbreak.

The overall health and wellness of our employees and their families, and serving our customers continue to be our top priorities. All of our facilities are open for business and expect to remain so. By implementing precautions and a business continuity plan we expect to maintain the high level of service and value you expect from us. Following the direction and recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we will be taking certain measures and precautions to address any undue exposure or potential exposure to the virus. Pratt Industries has created and has aggressively communicated to all employees an “Internal Action Plan & Guidelines Regarding Minimizing Coronavirus (COVID-19) Exposure”, which is detailed below:

Employee Prevention:

Practice good hygiene:

  • Stop handshaking – use other noncontact methods of greeting
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  • Wash your hands regularly and clean your hands at the door - Washing your hands is easy, and it’s one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs.
  • Use alcohol based hand sanitizers regularly and whenever possible (60%-95% alcohol is preferred to kill germs).
  • Avoid close contact with people who appear sick.
  • If you are feeling sick, stay at home. If you are already at work, then keep your distance from others to protec them from getting sick and leave work.
  • If you have a sick family member in your home, do not come to work.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth – germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches hers/his eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Practice other good health habits – get plenty of sleep, be physically active (consult your physician before engaging in any strenuous physical activity), manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
  • Use videoconferencing for meetings when possible, and when not possible, hold meetings in open, well-ventilated spaces
  • Postpone all large meetings or gatherings.
  • Do not share any work equipment – this includes but is not limited to computer work stations, corrugator head sets and basic office equipment – staplers, etc.

If at any time an employee has symptoms of acute respiratory illness or fever, they are to stay home and see their healthcare provider. They are not to come to work until they are free of fever (100.4° F [37.8° C] or greater using an oral thermometer), signs of a fever, and any other symptoms for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g. cough suppressants). Each and every day, all employees will have their temperature taken upon entering every Pratt facility.

If an employee or a family member in the same household exhibits any of the following symptoms: coughing, fever, sore throat, or shortness of breath, then they are to stay home.

For any employees who plan to travel or have recently traveled on a cruise ship or any international travel returning to the US, or who have family members in the same household, who plan to travel or have recently traveled on a cruise ship or any international travel returning to the US, then any such employee will be required to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days before returning to work.

Business Travel:

  • All international business travel is suspended until further notice.
  • Domestic air travel for all non-essential business travel is suspended until further notice.


  • As it relates to international guests from high alert countries identified by the CDC traveling to the US for business purposes at one of our locations, their in-person meetings and travel to one of our facilities are to be canceled at this time until further notice.
  • If at any time a visitor has symptoms of acute respiratory illness or a fever (100.4° F [37.8° C] greater using an oral thermometer), then he/she will not be allowed to enter any Pratt facility or have contact with a Pratt employee until he/she is free of such symptoms and free of fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing or other symptom-altering medicines (e.g. cough suppressants). Each and every day all visitors will have their temperature taken upon entering any Pratt facility.
  • All intra-company, non-business critical meetings/events are canceled until further notice.
  • All non-essential supplier visits to our locations are suspended at this time until further notice.
  • We will use phone/videoconferencing when applicable. Our employees would be happy to explore using alternative communication methods with you if and when you are ready to do so.
  • We trust that the above actions that we are taking with our employees during this time will ensure their well-being, and in doing so, we do not anticipate that these precautions will result in a noticeable change to our customers, which is always our top priority.
